So...

My premium membership ended last night, or this morning at midnight. I've know it was coming for a while now, and I was planning on buying myself a new one, but I never really got around to it...

For a while now, though, I've been contemplating the idea of leaving dA behind. I've had a nice run of it. I started out here around 7 and a half years ago. I was on and off for a time before that though, just admiring all the pretty artwork. Then i went into law school and I needed something to distract myself from the books. A hobby. But it had to be a hobby that didn't require too much time, or the need to leave my home because then that would take too many hours away from my studying. The hobby I came up with was fanfic writing. I started writing Naruto stories, and honestly I never really stopped (though I did write a few other fandoms too).

After my venture into fanfic writing, I starting getting people drawing things for a my stories. I rather liked it. A lot. After a while I started wanting to draw some of my own drawings from my stories, and that's when I joined dA. I started out pretty weakly, and again just with Naruto. After a while I started branching out into other series, but I always kept coming back to Naruto.

I made lots of great friends here on dA, a lot of them my watchers, but even more of them through groups. Groups were a lot of fun. I founded a few of my own, first of course with Nejitenplz which was so much fun to work with with my friends and then making more friends. I was able to be an admin and eventually (in most) found for Nejiten groups, Neji groups, Kibahina groups, Naruto groups, and Fairy tail. The festivals I ran (most especially FairyFest and NaruFest) were such a blast! I love that both of those events are still up and running in no small part to the wonderful friends I made and knew were perfect for carrying on the torch. :D

My greatest pride and joy of course was HeartShrineVillage. Oh the ending of it was disastrous; miscommunication and what not, but it was a lovely experience getting to create a world that so many people grew to love. I regret nothing. Well, that's the theory anyway, but in truth there were a lot of little things to regret. Most of them where misunderstandings, a few of them were gut feelings I ignored, but for the most part if I had it all over to do again, I don't think I'd change very much. I love the community it created. That's why I have such high hopes for Joralyal... if you haven't already guessed, it means I'm not actually leaving. Happy April Fools day!

And a special note, anyone interested... anyone who loved HSV back in it's golden age, come join is at Joralyal. We learned a lot from HSV and I promise you a lot of the dramas a lot of the pains of HSV will not be around this time. And we're better equipped to handle it in a much more mature, much more efficient manner. ;) If you love fairies, elves, dragons, etc etc... want to explore a creative new fantasy world take life... come join in the fun!
